This is the third and final part of the Lithium Series! Yayness!
So, trying to find a solution to his problem (Bellatrix/Joker/Hermione/Lucius love quadrangle thing) he decides to move all four of them to Gotham to make mayhem. Hermione poses as an actress, and uses her old friend Bruce to help her along. Meanwhile, Lucius poses as the British Embassador, so works very closely with the DA and his assistant - Harvey and Rachel. Rachel and Bruce's friendship means that Lucius and Hermione spend far more time together than they planned. Bruce is protective over Hermione and suspicious of Lucius so the pair have to be very careful around him.
After a meal between the 5 of them, Hermione returns home to the Joker. He is furious; Hermione went out in the dress that he first met her in (he has a thing for it, ok?) and she runs off crying. This time, it is the Joker that plays catch up and tries to cheer Hermione up, but they end up getting into another arguement.
Hermione becomes very famous, but all she wants to do is please the Joker. Meanwhile, Lucius is gradually falling deeper and deeper in love with her...
Because the Joker is too well known and Bellatrix is too mad, the two are forced to stay in hiding. Needless to say, Bellatrix tries to make the most of the situation and attempts to seduce the Joker by dressing like Hermione (that scene was practically stolen from Batman TAS lol) but the Joker just gets mad and continues with his plans to destroy Gotham. The Joker releases a video of him killing someone, with the added threat that more will die. Hermione believes he is talking about Lucius, but she is mistaken...
By flirting with Bellatrix, the Joker persuades her to help him in his plan to get rid of Rachel and Harvey, but 'forgets' to tell her until the very end that she will die with them (the Joker is jealous of how much time Hermione is spending with her friends and tbh Bellatrix was just annoying...).
Hermione and Lucius attend the funeral, closely watched by Bruce, and then Lucius holds a gathering afterwards, telling everyone that they must be strong and stand together. Following this he goes and sees the Joker...
The Joker teases Lucius about killing his friends (we find out that he killed Snape before leaving the magical world) and so Lucius lashes out at him. This just makes the Joker laugh and point out that Lucius now has nothing. Luicus decides to change that...
He goes and visits Hermione - she's all the Joker has now that he killed Bellatrix - and 'takes' her... you know what I mean... After the horrid business, we see Hermione at Bruce's flat. He only says one word to her, gets a response, and leaves. He goes to punish Lucius, but will he be too late...
SPOILERS:
Lucius goes back home to find the Joker in his house. Hermione told the Joker what happened BEFORE going to Bruce, so the Joker got to him first. The Joker puts a fatal smile on Lucius's face and leaves.
While Batman/Bruce is rushing to Lucius, Hermione writes him a letter, which Alfred finds and reads before giving it to Bruce on his return. As Bruce tries to understand why Hermione left, she and the Joker make their escape by plane, leaving Gotham and all the people, dead and alive, behind.
