In 1931 three classic horror stories were made into three classic films: Dracula, Frankenstein, and Jekyll & Hyde. In some ways, Hyde was also a forerunner of the Wolfman.

The film first aired 40 years ago this month. Good to see that it is still popular.

It is interesting to see Phillly and its suburbs in the 1960s. Like the opening shot of Billy Penn overlooking the city from atop CIty Hall, when it was the area's tallest building. Wonder what Rocky would think if all those protestors were there when he ran up the steps.

I love both the Rankin/Bass stop motion version from the 60s and this beautiful Fleischer cartoon from the 40s.

The special effects are actually quite good for 1969. There was no CGI back then. Stop motion was the best they had.

@K3anuPlaysP1an0 My post was just a joke, comparing Hulk to Popeye. But I remember reading in the comics that Abomination is stronger at first, until rage makes the Hulk even stronger.

Maybe the woman, Shelly Forbes, looked in the vampire's eyes and got hypnotized. That could explain why she didn't get in the car.

Peter Parker did sound like a teenager. Paul Soles used a deeper voice as Spider-Man so people would not suspect he was really a teen.

@submariner1982 That rumor would explain why, beginning in the next film, the monster walks with his arms stretched out in front of him. He is still blind and is feeling his way around. But his dialogue and all reference to his blindness were cut out for some reason.

I believe Chris Wiggins was the voice of Mysterio.

Maybe they got Betty confused with Mary Jane, which could be why her hair is red.

This one was more like Jekyll & Hyde. Krueger was possessing Jesse because the boy somehow enabled him to enter the real world with his powers intact.

This cartoon seems based on a John Byrne comic from the early 1980s. But in the comic, it was Dr Strange, not Ghost Rider, who did that. Normally, they could not affect such a powerful being. But the big guy was weak from not eating any planets, having pursued his rebellious herald across a galaxy.

@gothamcity29 I heard that it was supposed to be Baragon, but the suit was damaged while digging. So they used Goro and just called it Baragon.

This was the hippie version of Godzilla. It was anti-pollution just like the first one was anti-nuclear. At one point the monster attacks a woodstock-like festival. The director, who would never direct another G film, filled it with dark, weird images and cartoons. He even had Godzilla flying!
