About Me:

The pioneering work of Linda Tellington-Jones has its roots in a philosophy that sees all beings -- humans and animals alike -- as reflections of a Divine Whole. The Tellington Method was first created 4 decades ago as a system of animal training, healing and communication that allows people to relate to animals in a deeper, more compassionate way -- a way that furthers inter-species connection and honors the body, mind and spirit of both animals and their people. The Tellington Method utilizes a variety of techniques of touch, movement and body language to affect behavior, performance, and health, and to increase an animal's willingness and ability to learn in a painless and anxiety-free environment.
Linda's highly effective and revolutionary approach to working with animals brought her world wide recognition, and it was out of this success that Tellington TTouch for humans has arisen, emerging as an important addition to the increasingly respected world of alternative healing practices.

Hi

I'm wanting to try this with canaries, however, I obviously cann't get a canary to sit on my hand like a Cockatoo. How do I go about introducing this to such a small bird that lives in an avariy?
Any help appreciated!
Thanks

Caninefan999,
Carolyn Harvey, DVM, TTouch Practitioner and Lauren McCall, TTouch Practitioner wrote, in HOUSE RABBIT JOURNAL, an articlea bout TTouch for rabbits.
"A Gentle Way to Better Behavior and Health"

". . . for non-professional rabbit caregivers and guardians, this [Tellington TTouch] handling technique can have beneficial effects on your rabbits' physical and emotional health and help you deal with many common health and behavioral issues,

"If you prepare to do battle when it's time to trim the toenails, using this technique on your rabbits feet can help your bunny accept the procedure without the usual struggle.

"TTouch has been used effectively with bonding, litterbox training, reducing symptoms of aging, and speeding recovery from illness, injury or surgery. It is a form of body work that uses gentle hand and finger movements to push the animal's skin in a circle."

This process looks amazing. I have a little pomchi who is over anxious and extremely nervous and I would really appreciate seeing a video where a small anxious dog is worked on. I take it you don't take a stressed dog and try and do this technique, more use it when the dog is settled and already relaxed or atleast sitting in a calm manner. I don't know how my dog would respond if he was barking and I tried this to settle him down. Wouldn't he see the barking as a way to receive energy and therefore bark even more? Many thanks for creating this technique it looks amazing. Kayley.

Hello Marlyssa,
Tellington TTouch can help with many health and behavior problems, either of which can contribute to urinating in the house.  We first recommend a veterinary examination to rule out medical issues.  TTouch can be used as a way to make any training you might do more effective by helping your dog to learn and remember more easily.  It can also reduce stress or anxiety that could be contributing to the problem and improve your communication and understanding of ways of solving this problem.
Debby Potts, Tellington TTouch Instructor.
