The key is to look for the ingredient: sodium laureth sulfate. It makes the shampoo harsher than it needs to be. If it makes a lot of suds it has this ingredient. I use Aveda and get very little lather, It cleans without stripping. there are other shampoos with out it but not many.

@mileyfan8787 just wash your silk by hand in delicate fabric wash. If you don't want to spend the money on special fabrich wash use shampoo, but don't use detergent it's a bit harsh on the fibers.
