Teck Rhyme was not always the skillful and clever rap artist he is today, although he always has had the bright smile and brilliant personality. Once upon more meager times, he was nine years old Levi Siffel with pain inside and words that were worthy of being heard, rapping about what his life was like. He'd just lost his mother, and the music was his outlet for soothing the rocky hurt he had no other way to get rid of. When he was 10 years old he began playing the piano, and he fell in love with the smooth sounds that brought back memories of his recently deceased mother. This started him on the path to creating the beautiful keyboard music and drum machine tracks many Cincinnati teens nod their heads to today. His main focus was to get the top quality music from the equipment that he had, and to mix and master professionally using the proper sounds and effects.
Yet it wasn't until the age of fourteen that he really began to get serious about making this his career. He began testing the waters in singing, as well as the rapping he was getting so good at. His vocals were shy and sweet, pouring only timidly from his maturing fourteen year old voice. However his confidence in both was to be built by his fans, close friends, and brothers. Then going by the name of Lil L, he stretched his wings in the fast lanes and bass beat rhythms of the Hip Hop world, mastering his breath control and developing a Swag that he still wears proudly to this day. One day his partner and brother, the well known A.Kizzle the Lyrical Gun pointed out that the industry was less likely to respect a Lil L in the game. As a young teenager with dreams bigger than life, he kept his self expectations high and silently demanded the respect he earned.
In the midst of a brainstorming session with his brothers and close friends, Teck Rhyme was born.
His flow was made of hot, magical lyrical bullets he shot from the microphone and captivated the crowd who instantly fell in love with the charismatic and talented young rapper. He had witty lyrics and a smooth, gentle singing voice. In August of 2010, months after his 18th birthday, he and his brothers, along with a few other talented friends, became Team Groovie. They were the life of every show they did and every party they went to wearing their black and yellow Groovie t-shirts. Teck Rhyme dedicates the majority of his time to promoting his team and making a name for himself. He spends hours, sometimes even days at a time, losing himself in the tasks of creating beats and hit songs. Some of his newer hit songs include Roller Coaster, Make Your Body Sing, and Trillion dollar swag.
When he's not in the studio, Teck Rhyme, affectionately called Teck by family, friends and fans, drums with his family African drum and Dance Company and can also be seen at Kenwood Mall with his brothers giving out demo cds and pushing his music.
He has haters, as any great does.
Yet his family and friends, as well as thousands of fans nationwide, love him for his bright spirit and professional, inspirational music that has touched so many with the pain and beauty of his story.
