Technocracy, conceived by members of the Technical Alliance headed by Howard Scott in 1933, means a lot of things to me. If you were to search for an online definition of the word, you would get something like this: a form of government in which scientists and technical experts are in control. Such a limited and vague definition does not do true justice to the structure, concepts, ideals, and values inherent to Technocracy. Here is a better definition in my words: Technocracy is a humanistic application of science and the scientific method to society in a way that maximizes collective-interest and at the same time empowers the self-interest of its citizens by maintaining for each a high standard of living.
