Team Rio

Team Rio is a group of dedicated, energetic runners and walkers who train together and will participate in the Country Music Marathon or ½ Marathon on April 25, 2009 in Nashville. These runners and walkers are special because they also raise pledges for the children of Big Brothers Big Sisters while also serving as excellent role models and promoting physical fitness to Middle Tennessees youth. Founded in 2005 by Diamond Rio member Jimmy Olander, Team Rio has raised over $320,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee. This year, Diamond Rio members Jimmy Olander and Marty Roe are Team Rio's Celebrity Running Captains. YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIVE IN THE MIDDLE TENNESSEE AREA TO JOIN TEAM RIO. Train on your own and join us the day of the marathon. Our coach Billy Smith will get you prepared by providing weekly training schedules, group training clinics and expert advise.
