Growing up in Manhattan Beach me and my friends used to ride our bikes and listen to the band from the outside of Reb Foster's Revelaire Club in Redondo. Also heard Jr. Walker and the All Stars the same way. We were about 13 at the time. I think you had to be 14 to get inside?

This would be a perfect song about old men sending young men off to wars they wouldn't fight in themselves.

B Mitchel Reed used to play this song on KMET. I used to love it, but I had no idea that Gene Vincent was an oldie trying to make a comeback. I thought he was a new guy making a nice debut

I guess we weren't Canadian enough? Who knew they were so good? Although KROQ, the best station ever (L.A) did play the heck out of "Antarctica." But this live version blows it away.'

Someone just turned me on to an old sixties video called Talk Talk by some band called The Music Machine. Loved you Ramones, (RIIP) but I have to agree, you were probably influenced as teenagers by those guys?

I checked this out a few months back and there was a post from one of the back round singers talking about the session. Thought it was one of the more interesting ones I've run across. What happened to it?

Great live version. The guitarist plays like he's just dying to cut loose and join in the energy. But his taunting back round licks produce a great heavy bottom.

Safety Dance was one of my all time favorite videos back in the day. Very cool to see such an energetic live version. I had tickets to see them in Redondo Beach at The Strand back in the 87 (Pop goes the world days) but they were no shows.

This song totally reminds me of Joe Cocker's "Feeling All Right." Since Steve Winwood wrote and played on it, it's pretty obvious where his inspiration came from – right here.

I remember Burnside. One of the guitar players was named Kenny Roland. I was a strip rat, but I knew him from Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach. We used to hang out at the hamburger place across from Gazzaries when they played there. I think he was in the same class as Mike Purpose and...
You can spot the other 3 members of the band standing casually against the wall. Sly.
