Tavern Puzzle® Collection
Tucker-Jones House, Inc.
Dennis Sucilsky is a museum trained blacksmith who began his career in the 1970s specializing in 18th and 19th century building hardware. While researching artifacts from an inn, Dennis came across iron puzzles. These metal brainteasers caught his fancy, and he began reproducing some of the antique designs as well as developing his own creations.
Using his knowledge of iron-working and tool-making, Dennis created the Tavern Puzzle Collection in the early 1980s. The materials and techniques he uses produce items that retain the look and feel of hand-forged ironware. All puzzles and accessories are handcrafted and affordably priced.
Dennis introduced the first of his interactive puzzles in 2005. Each design is an intriguing puzzle by itself, but the component parts can be interchanged with others in the series, with many configurations possible. The design elements that give the puzzles a pleasing appearance now include function that makes the interactive puzzles even more entertaining and challenging.
In 1999, Dennis moved his shop into his own 8,000 square foot building in East Setauket, New York, which he had specially built to handle his puzzle production. All design, production, packaging, and shipping are done from this Long Island location.
