"Tasto Solo is a unique groupe in the world of Early Music nowadays" Jury of the IYAP-Early Music 2006.
About Me:

Born in Barcelona (Spain), Guillermo Pérez is an internationally recognized organetto player developing an unusual career in the field of medieval music. His interest in the instrumental repertoires of the 14th and 15th centuries led to the foundation and artistic direction of Tasto Solo.
Since 2003, he has been working regularly with prestigious specialized ensembles including Mala Punica (IT), Micrologus (IT), The Unicorn Ensemble (AU) and Diabolus in Musica (FR), recording CDs for Naïve, Ricercar, Zig-Zag Territoires, Passacaille, Aeon, RaumKlang and Pneuma labels as well as for radio broadcasting and television. He has performed in most part of European festivals and concerts venues.
As a fellow of the Güell Foundation, he follows the International Master programme "Ars Nova in Europe", researching and preparing new articles about the Robertsbridge, Buxheimer and Lochamer manuscripts. He also lectures and offers workshops at main institutions including the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, the Fondazione Cini and the Conservatoire d'Orsay. Since 2010 he is teaching organetto at the CIRMA in Moissac, France.
At present, Guillermo Pérez is developing new soloist projects, working on late medieval keyboard schools and expanding the organetto repertoires until the Renaissance period including the newly "Da Vinci Project".

An acclaimed ensemble in the early music world, directed by Guillermo Pérez, Tasto Solo claim and re-discovers virtuosic and highly refined musical repertoires of the 14th and 15th centuries where gothic keyboard instruments became the cornerstone. The group combines historical research and organological reconstruction with an experimental work in which the performers imagine and recreate the techniques and expressive means characteristic of the clavisimbala, organetti and harps of that period. Thanks to this vocation, the ensemble presents today with much success the magnificent German school of Conrad Paumann or John I of Aragon minstrels' poetry.
Each concert of Tasto Solo is a unique event. The group pays full attention to every detail, including staging, dramatic rhythm and the interaction between the different pieces of the programme. The audience, inexperienced or connoisseur, is seduced from the first moment, overwhelmed by the sensuality and sonorities of the unusual collection of instruments. Creative spontaneity, improvisation and dialogue between artists emerge from the musical narrative that is only over when the final applause begins.
Winner of the IYAP-Early Music competition 2006, Tasto Solo is by now one of the leading ensembles on the field of late medieval music and performs regularly at the most prestigious European festivals and venues: Bruges Concertgebouw, Antwerp's Amuz and Laus Polyphoniae Festival, Utrecht OudeMuziek, Russia Early Music Foundation, Brussels BOZAR, Berlin Konzerthaus, Festival de Regensburg, Fondation Royaumont, Festival de Saintes, Printemps des Arts de Nantes, Festival de Montfaucon, WDR Festival, Festival Radovljica, Les Concerts de Saint Germain, Semana Internacional del Órgano de Granada, Festival de Música Antigua de Sevilla, Santiago de Compostela, Olivares, Toledo...
The first ensemble's CD, "Meyster ob allen Meystern", published by Passacaille/Musica Vera label, has been described as "a recording that will be undoubtedly a reference in the field of medieval music for many years" (CD Compact magazine), received the celebrated "Diapason d'Or" (Diapason Magazine) as well as a large amount of awards from the international press (Musicora Sélection, KulturRadio "Grossartig", Toccata Magazin "CD-Tipp", Audio Clásica "Recomendado-Excelente", OpusMúsica "Disco del Mes", Ritmo "Recomendado-Excelente", CD Compact "Recomendado", Amadeus "5 Stelle di Amadeus-Migliori CD del Mese").
Tasto Solo has been selected "Recommended Ensemble 2010-2011" by the Early Music Committee FestClásica, Spanish Classical Music Festivals Association.
