US policy was not without it's flaws. Seen by many as Kennedy's propping up a small elite supporters of a foreign culture(French) and religion (Roman Catholic) in a country overwhelmingly y (99.6%)Buddhist. While the so called "free" elections in the South were not free since anyone supporting t...

    Yaesu FRG-7700 with memory unit

    Tangereandream Tangereandream commented:

No Mods required but you need a CW filter for Morse in QRM and a good aerial; at least 100 foot long wire, up as high as you like, not a dipole. If you can find a set with the memory unit even better. Keep it powered on 24/7 I get zero drift a very nice radio.

You can listen to anything from about 10 Kc/s to 30 Mc/s on the FRG7700 AM SSB USB/LSB and CW/MCW. Plus it has a record socket to hook to a computer.. The key ALWAYS is a decent aerial a long wire over 100 foot long E-W and up high. . For CW, hooking out that elusive "spy" station doing 96 W...

Had Nixon been going for a win rather than a draw,(by this time he was looking for an exit stratagy). Then the mighty B52 would have long since have closed Haiphong Harbour with mines in 1964 and flattened the whole place with WWII style "area bombing" so no SAM-2s and no NVA in the south. The US...

There is nothing enigmatic about 4XZ. theis coast station is strong in the UK after 1500 UTC on 6379 4331, and after dark on 2679 , Station sends traffic lists and classic GPO style shore to ship telegrams starting with QTC 1, same as PortisheadRadio (GKB GKC CKD, 2 to 6) did in the days when M...

    Tangereandream Tangereandream commented:

Hi all, There is nothing mystery about 4XZ, It is listed by the ITU-R InternationalTelecommunications Radio Division. The format of the messages despite the encrypted "message body" is exactly the same as that used for "Telegrams" between ships and shore in the not so distant past when Morse rule...
