Actually, he fails to address the PROVEN risks altogether.. he ignores the studies that show the real rate of complications (minor and catastrophic)--and completely ignores the risk of unnecessary deaths--even in "civilized" countries.

Not to mention that until the 50's female circumcision was a "valid" medical procedure and was paid for by insurance.

So it is hard to use "medical procedure"as an excuse for male circumcision.

Try coming back with a comparable study that contradicts the O'Hara study and spare us this silly knee-jerk dismissal.

To find out more about female circumcision, the USAid-funded study by the Population Council surveyed 1694 households in eight regions and found all the boys and 97.5 per cent of girls had been circumcised.
