Thank you. It was hard to come by info when I was first learning so like to share. I've only had the two but had second hand experience helping many others with theirs, so mental knowledge not hands on. The tip of theor nose is soft but most of that snout is part of their skull so not floppy like a trunk. Pua like small ants better and the eggs and babies. Too many carpenter ants can make her puke up the "shells" later. She doesn't spend much time at carpenter ant nests but I gave her a bunch once and that happened. I don't know about the red velvet but they will eat fire ants. They just eat quickly and run before the attack gets to bad. They do avoid ants with strong chemicals. I think she would know to avoid something like the velvet ant.

Tamanduagirl how many anteaters have you had at the most? Also are their noses really floppy or not just a wondering question. And do they like little ants or the big ones like carpenter ants and cow ants that is what I read off some site. I would think they like the big ones better because it is more of a meal to them. Also have you heard of a red velvet ant because they are very poisonous and I was wondering what if an anteater was to eat one would it harm them terribly or it wouldn't be a bother. Friendly note- I am glad you reply to you reviewers messages that means a lot to me and probably everyone else that gets on you probably have tons of fan mail to reply to everyday, so just letting you know I good if feel how you care about your fans.

That is a cool "pet". Would probably freak some people out if it was sitting in the front passengers seat of a car, belted in and all. You would get lots of looks for sure.

I love (giant) anteaters. Went to St Louis zoo to see one, but no go. I was very dissappointed. Your sight will have to do till I can get to the Nashville Zoo. Thanks for the site.

TamanduaGirl do you live in California and it is rude for them to tell you to tell everyone that that they do not make good pets. They definatly haven't heard about the freedom of speech law.
