Hey my name is Leah I ride not just Shetlands but every size horse you could imagine  please remember Della is a Shetland pony not a miniature there is a huge different
I also want you to note any small pony are not dogs they are horses I do not believe in treating them any different because of there size they are not toys and are just as capable as hurting you as a larger pony or horse I have seen bad injuries and have narrowly escaped many myself I am lucky I have not had any serious injuries other then deep cuts and bad swelling/bruising Just imagine what they can do to a smaller child who hasn't had there bone set.
I have done my research I have talked to professional riders/vets and they have confirmed my pony is able to take me and that she is better off being ridden then sitting in the paddock I have never had any health problems with my ponies they are all taken care propley and not once have I ever had any of my ponies pull up lame or suffer back problems
If you want to tell me I am unable to ride my pony who loves being ridden, I suggest you keep it to yourself as I am not interested in your petty rants as I have had professional advice and have seen my pony excel beautifully who is very talented, I let my horse speak for my actions and so far I have had no problems no complaints form my pony if Della wanted me off she will get me off she can hurl herself into the air spin and buck/rear without problems a horse or pony who cannot take a rider would not be able to do that let alone trot under saddle
I am very particular owner i know my horses like the back of my hand I know there limits I know what they like and dislike I know what they are unable to do
I would never put my ponies in a situation that they cannot manage, or were I would end up with back problems / medical problems or come up lame
