Takis Karnatsos was born on April 26, 1946, in Athens, Greece.
He was a painter, a commended set & costumes designer, twice awarded State Prizes playwright (engaged also in translation-adaptation), actor, radio producer and a very successful lyricist.
He wrote lyrics for more than 500 songs, performed by many popular Greek singers and actors (Marinella, Giannis Parios, Giannis Poulopoulos, Stamatis Kokotas, Manolis Mitsias, Tania Tsanaklidou, Aleka Kanellidou, Tzeni Vanou, Doukissa, Christiana, Aliki Vougiouklaki, Zoi Laskari, Martha Karagianni, Giorgos Marinos, Paschalis, Mando, Katy Garbi, Sakis Rouvas, Paulina, Dakis, Elpida, Bessy Argyraki, Evridiki etc).
He received four golden and one platinum records. Several of his songs haven't been just one season's hit but became classic of their kind.
He also wrote the lyrics and made the adaptation of the dialogues for the Greek dubbing of many Walt Disney Pictures' animated films like "The Beauty and the Beast", "Aladdin", "The little Mermaid", "Cinderella", "The Jungle Book", "Bambi", "Bernard and Bianca", "Chip and Dale" etc and Warner Bros' "Thumbelina".
He died on April 17, 1996.
