About this user
Texas Campaign for the Environment (TCE) is a non-partisan, non-profit citizens' organization that focuses on public and environmental health issues. TCE is dedicated to informing and mobilizing Texans to protect the quality of their lives, their health, their communities and the environment. We believe that people have a right to know and a right to act on issues that fundamentally affect their lives and future generations.TCE has offices in Austin, D/FW and Houston, and has been primarily focused on addressing end-of-life recycling for Americas electronic waste. TCE is a leading member of the national Electronics TakeBack Coalition (ETBC). TCE advocates for producer takeback recycling for toxic electronic waste. Producer takeback offers a long-term solution for e-waste recycling as it makes the producers assume the financial responsibility of recycling and disposal. By making the producers responsible for their end of life products, there is a market-based profit incentive for sustainable design, reducing waste, reuse and recycling.
