TWRC promotes environmental conservation through public education and rehabilitation of native Texas wildlife. Serving the Greater Houston area since 1979, TWRC is an urban wildlife emergency and rehabilitative care facility staffed by year-round part-time employees, volunteers, and licensed rehabilitators. Our speaker's bureau is involved in education projects with schools, as well as scouting projects, and various community and civic organizations. Since 1992, over 70,000 orphaned, ill, or injured wildlife have passed through our facility. TWRC's Baby Bird Program operates during the spring and summer months, and raises and releases an average of 2000 birds each year. All animals received into the shelter are brought to us by the public. Receiving no state or federal funding, all operating funds come from individual donors, corporations, and foundations.
