I use a Hauppauge HD PVR Model 1212 & HDPVRCapture to record gameplay. As for recording my commentary, I have a mixer that I send all of my audio to (xbox, computer, etc.) and that same mixer outputs into the HD PVR. So when I play, I have Garageband open with a track being monitored so that it outputs to the HD PVR. The mic that I use is a Samson Go Mic.
