Fernando Ramos was born in Phoenix to Mexican immigrants in 1985. Constantly moving back and forth across California and even a stint in his parent's birthplace of Mexicali, he maintained sanity largely by drawing and writing silly comics inspired by the unhealthy amount of Super Mario Bros. video games he played. However, as the high school era dawned upon him, it largely became a therapeutic device. Through this, he found his proverbial soulmates in the likes of the dark absurdism of Joseph Heller's Catch-22, the existential action-drama of Patrick McGoohan's The Prisoner, and countless numbers of Japanese animated melodramas such as Neon Genesis Evangelion.

It was largely the latter that took him into learning the Japanese language, which lead him into becoming a goodwill ambassador to the city of Odawara. The experience has left an indelible mark on him, becoming a deep influence for his later projects.

Eventually giving up the pencil and word-balloons for a camera and dialogue, he has written, directed and edited several films in addition to having written several newspaper articles and screenplays. Like his films, Ramos runs the gamut in genres from emotional film noir, Japanese anime tributes and even humor columns on internet dating. He currently resides in Southern Califronia, and true to his roots, is tri-lingual in English, Spanish and Japanese.
