@Arthur3835 U2 and Pogues, fair enough I've already mentioned them in my list. However, while I love Horslips I don't believe they come even close to Thin Lizzy in terms of influence. Their technique and creativity are debatable as they are both different styles of music.

Also, I should mention that trad musicians like Dubliners etc are what we as a nation should look up to a lot more than we do right now, and young musicians should aspire to including at least some of it in their music. It is the true sound of Ireland.
