Agree in general. But in the beginning facial features matter most. If they “match” (I am not talking about beauty!), then the woman analyzes the rest. If not, she will have the feeling that he is not “her type”. Otherwise, women would have to add points in their subconscious to each man in each ...

How to measure it? If you ask her, and tell her about pheromones, that's a leading question... Therefore...

@bluehorse888 Partly agree with you. Physical attractiveness is indeed very subjective, especially when you analyze women's opinions! Women may differ tremendously when asked which face is sexy. About TNoSuchCoupleParadox's channel
"The No Such Couple Paradox" is an ebook that presents a brand new theory explaining human sexual attraction. Our love choices depend on facial features. Other factors naturally gain importance in later stages. Apart from scientific analysis, the ebook covers a wide range of other topics: from dating and matchmaking to plastic surgery. More than 30 studies are mentioned.
Those of you who are not convinced by face reading or have never paid attention to facial features can try another more exact method to verify the "No Such Couple Paradox": digit ratios.
Facial features may be confusing. Sometimes it is difficult to grasp all nuances. Even distinguished academics commit mistakes, examples of misjudgments are given in my ebook.
2nd to 4th digit ratio is an acclaimed method of measuring testosterone -- you can read more about it in Professor Manning's article "The ratio of 2nd to 4th digit length: a predictor of sperm numbers and concentrations of testosterone, luteinizing hormone and oestrogen," Manning J.T., Scutt D., Wilson J., Lewis-Jones D.I. (1998), and in Digit Ratio: A Pointer to Fertility, Behavior, and Health, John T. Manning, Rutgers University Press, 2002. There is plenty of information about it available on the Internet as well. Wikipedia is a good place to start.
Just measure finger lengths if you are in a long-term relationship or ask your friends to play this game with their partners.
As in case of face reading the indispensable requirement for our research remains unchanged: a legitimate long-term relationship. So we have to rule out couples in which mutual attraction is not the cardinal reason to pair up. These are mainly arranged marriages and possibly some people from small rural communities, where there are little partners available, and life conditions don't make it easy for singles. This gives a strong economic incentive to enter into a long-term relationship. In modern developed urban societies some people may also enter into long-term commitments to achieve financial security. Yet the amount of potential partners available, in most cases enables them to pair up with a "matching" individual who also provides financial stability.
The No Such Couple Paradox is evidenced once again this time thanks to digit ratios:
There is not a single couple in which both partners have very high 2nd to 4th digit ratios, in the light of the average ratios for each sex.
Is there any correlation between digit ratios and face traits? The following study provides evidence there is a visible connection:
Fink B., Grammer K., Mitteroecker P., Gunz P., Schaefer K., Bookstein F.L., Manning J.T., "Second to fourth digit ratio and face shape," Proceedings of the Royal Society
It could be briefly summed up with one sentence: the lower digit ratio the more masculinized face shape. This rule applies to both sexes.
The author describes a new theory regarding human mating and sexual attraction -- the Hormonal Law of Attraction. He quotes scientific experiments involving facial features carried out by researchers from the world's top anthropology and psychology departments. Some of these complement his theory; others are criticized. The ebook's second edition contains more than 40 celebrity photos, most of which are images of Hollywood couples, but also some politicians. The strongest evidence -- as he claims -- proving the HLA is the titular "No Such Couple Paradox." He defies the reader to find at least one couple in the whole wide world in which the man has very effeminate facial features and the woman has a very feminine face as well. This conundrum serves as evidence for the theory, which says that... well, read the ebook to find out for yourself -- or if you can, overthrow the "No Such Couple Paradox."
