@edzvl On my 2002 the boot can be pulled away to reveal an escutcheon on the door. When you're done with the work you can pull the excutcheo out of the door and reconnect it.

About THESPOCK's channel
The white mount has tabs on the sides that you can push in to release it from the door. No need to take the door panel off. Anyone had this problem when it was NOT because of a broken ground wire in the boot? That's the one I'm here hunting down.
