HOH /severely Deaf girl with Menieres Disease just trying to find her way in the world.I feel like I am caught in Limbo. The world of hearing people is no longer the same. A world where I felt comfortable starting up a conversation with a group of people, laughing and joking around with my friends and family. A world that has turned into one I can no longer understand.
Trying to slowly transition my life into the Deaf community. A community that doesn't fully understand what it is like to become Deaf after having hearing your whole life.
Its a double edged sword that is hard to swallow any way you look at it.
I enjoy music more than anything in my life and knowing that some day I will not be able to hear it breaks my heart.
Youtube and the internet in itself has been a great outlet for me. I enjoy watching people turn songs into ASL and feeling a sense of being alright when the time finally comes that I will no longer be able to hear it.
I have had some good surprises through this short journey so far and some bad, but that is with anything in life.
I am the site moderator for a Myspace type website for the Deaf and HoH and of course we do welcome people who are hearing and also a mod for one of the biggest Deaf forums on the internet. Since joining these sites I have had the pleasure of getting to know many new friends and I hope that number of people only grows..
Stop by, add me as a friend. You won't be disappointed...
