About this user
My name is Derek E. Burgmeier. I am a budding composer of electronic music. My goal is not to be a superstar, but rather an alternative music option. My music is inspired by the works of Jean Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk and Eloy Fritsch.
I don't remember the first time I heard a synthesizer, but my guess would be the first time I heard one would have probably been when I was three or four years old, listening to the Moody Blues with my mother, and some of their newer songs featured the talent of keyboardist Patrick Moraz. Of course at that age, I had no idea what instruments made those strange, yet beautiful sounds. I the first time I ever heard the word SYNTHESIZER was when I was eight years old. My music teacher played "Silver Apples of The Moon" for the class. I didn't really come in contact with keyboards again until a few years ago when I found my late grandmother's Yamaha PSS-270 keyboard, which began my musical journey. . .
