This was recorded live at the Winter Solstice Celebration on December 17, 2011, at The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, NYC. Tim, a member of The Paul Winter Consort and former Cathedral Organist, played a solo improvisation on the theme "I Wonder as I Wander" during the second half of the show. Unlike previous years, when I have shot video of Tim from up in the organ loft, this was filmed from out in the crossing, which I think makes for an interesting perspective and good audio balance between the State Trumpet and The Great Organ. Enjoy!
Tim served at Saint John the Divine as Associate Organist from 1997-2002 and as Cathedral Organist from 2002-2009.

This was recorded live at the Winter Solstice Celebration on December 18, 2010, at The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, NYC. Tim, a member of The Paul Winter Consort and former Cathedral Organist, played a Christmas Carol improvisation to begin the second half of the show (you can hear the audience in the background as they are finding their way back to their seats and settling in for the second act). Tim begins with a State Trumpet Fanfare on the theme of 'Deck The Halls' (located over 500 feet from the organ console where this recording was made, the single mic on the videocam did not pick up The State Trumpet pipes as loudly as the rest of the instrument, which is in much closer proximity). Tim's improvisation continues with the joyful strains of 'Ding Dong Merrily on High', 'The Holly and The Ivy', 'Bring a Torch, Jeanette Isabella', finishing with 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas'. I hope you enjoy the music!

Just uploaded a video of a Tim Brumfield piano improvisation inspired by beautiful Otter Creek that runs through Madison County, Kentucky. Mixed into the piano track are the sounds of nature, recorded live at Otter Creek, with the video shot at the same location. I hope you enjoy the music!

Otter Creek holds a special place in the hearts of the people in Madison County, Kentucky, as it runs through many farms and communities such as Red House, where Tim's father, Don Brumfield, grew up. It's always been a particularly special place to Tim and his family and he has spent countless afternoons on its banks enjoying the sights and sounds of the many birds (including magnificent Blue Herons), observing all types of fish and turtles, and also watching the playful otters for which the creek is named. It remains a place of great natural beauty, and is home to a wonderful variety of Kentucky's wildlife. I believe that Tim truly captures the magic of Otter Creek in this beautiful piano improvisation, which I hope you enjoy.
All of the images and nature sounds in this video were recorded at Otter Creek in Richmond, Kentucky.
"By Otter Creek" is on Tim's album, "Kentucky Serenade", and is available online: iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/my-o... Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003... CD Baby: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/TimBrumfield
