"The Weed and the Flower"

In a field full of flowers, there is one that stands out bright.
The one the sun has chosen to shine its rays of light.
All the other flowers surround and adore her beauty,
For they had never before seen petals as blue as the sea.
The flowers would come from all around to gaze upon her perfection.
But only a few are allowed past her followers protection.
One dingy flower would pass by the field each day,
Hoping to catch a glimpse and the chance to say HEY.
He took this path for many years but she never really knew.
Had she only glanced his way just once, she'd have found her love so true.
