I've gotten to the third region of the Surface, which I guess is called... Something Mines. I just got there last night, and saved as soon as I got there because I had company at the house. I have sworn to never use a walkthrough for this game; I'm trying to get back in touch with my early childhood talent of kicking ASS at gaming. :P
