About this user
I'm Susie, I'm from California, I love classic rock, (esp. prog and psychadelic) I used to be kind of a music snob, but I got over it and am now much more tolerant (I hope). Sometimes I wish I was born about 30 years earlier, but OTOH if technology hadn't progressed as far as it has today I wouldn't be able to listen to all this music that was made when my parents were teenagers. But I would be living it, so I guess it wouldn't matter. I think you can guess who my favorite band is. My favorite songs by them are...well, too many to name. "Christmas" is what started my obsesssion. I immediately bought "Tommy"...and the rest is history. Some other favorites are Amazing Journey, Sally Simpson, We're Not Gonna Take It/Listening to You, Rael, A Quick One..., Tatoo, Mary Anne..., Magic Bus, I Can See For Miles, I'm A Boy, Pictures of Lily, Baba O'Riley, Won't Get Fooled Again, Love Ain't For Keeping, Dr Jimmy, The Real Me...wow, this list is getting pretty long already. I love to meet other people who like The Who and 60s/70s rock, so send me a message! Maybe we can be friends. :)
And now for some random quotes:
Pete Townshend:
"The fact of the matter is, I'm fucking brilliant. Not was brilliant, am brilliant."
"When you actually hear the backing tracks of The Beatles without their voices, they're flippin' lousy."
"Goodbye to this place? I've never been here before. I mean, I'm looking out the window at it now. I don't like the look of it. I'll be glad to say goodbye to it. I'm saying goodbye to it now. Bye bye Shea Stadium, I'll never fucking see you again. I mean, who needs it? I never wanted to be a baseball player."
(when asked by an interviewer how he felt about saying goodbye to New York after The Who's 1982 Shea Stadium concert)
"No, it's you who've got the responsibility...if you'll shut up about it, I will too."
--Paul McCartney, when asked if he thought he had a responsibility as a public figure not to discuss his LSD use
