Mike Neal's Performances
Mike Neal started playing guitar in December of 1975 when he received a one for Christmas. He received a good start taking lessons from Jim Petiway and studied with Jim for about a year and a half. From there he took some workshops classes at Dick Grove and began playing and learning from others. While still in high school he was in a band called Rox that opened for the original Quite Riot (with Randy Rhodes). About this time Mike started playing with some other local bands and began to develop his writing and vocal talents. In 1982 Mike fronted a band called The Simple Dots and they played the LA club scene receiving great feed back before breaking up. Mike was the lead singer and the main writer of this band. After that he went to school to study something other than music and one semester later he decided that was definitely not what he wanted to do. He then decided to enroll at GIT and he entered at the highest level, studied his ass off and graduated with his class. After graduation he joined a Las Vegas type show band and realized he couldnt be happy unless he was playing rock n roll. So he quit and began to do session work while playing with many different bands and many different styles. In March of 2008, Mike Neal passed away. We hope you enjoy the music he left behind
