Rahat is definately a Ustaad. He can sing pure classical as well pop songs. I have heard many Ustaads who tried to singh light songs but were besura at some points. What the point in knowing 100 raagas but can not sing one simple song

Mukesh has out peformed Rafi here. Towards the end when rafi took over from Mukesh Rafi was slightly besura... if you understand the music.
Rafi may have sung too many songs but only 60-70% of his songs were popular.
Mukash Ji sang less songs but about 90 % were hit...
