My 1970 Formula 400 Ram Air III came with the 12 bolt 3:73 rear end as standard equiptment also. This was the lowest ratio available in the Pontiac but for $30 the Camaro differential case would bolt in and accept any Chevrolet or aftermarket gears.

@1962Galaxie514ciMPFI Ah, but horsepower is an imaginary result of torque X RPM / 5252 and is not a measurable quantity unto itself. A dyno does not measure anything but torque and a calculator declares horsepower to be the result of that formula.

My '70 Formula 400 Ram Air IV, 4 speed ran on the national record in 1970 in E Pure Stock, 13.01 @ 107 MPH. The record was actually set by a Dodge 440 6 Pack. Stage I Buicks and the 455 W-30 Oldsmobiles were both very fast in the pure stock ranks. Early in the year I was beat by each of them but ...
