@slipdrum80 Jim drank every single show. Sometimes he got hammered, sometimes not. It was a shame how things went towards the end. But that was just the deal. I have a lot of 1970 live recordings. On some, Jim sounds like the best singer ever. On others he really isn't very good. the band were us...

Jim got himself into shape for these shows. He'd been on the sauce for 6 months prior to this. Shame he subsequently lost the plot as the year went on. A lot of stress from the (retrospectively) comedy Miami trial probably.

Sounds like Jim - just can't see him singing these lyrics. But there are at least 2 vocalists on this album. The other one sounds a bit like Doug Ingle of Iron Butterfly, and occasionally the vocals have a similar sound to John Kay.

The black Brian Wilson. Massively talented, got the timing wrong in the early 70s. Anybody who knows their stuff loves Arthur.

Tremendous. I know he was kind of grouped in the '50s category generally, but liked his later efforts the best - he was a true professional and loved England. Always a great rockabilly singer, even when clearly intoxicated. Had no truck from the prick that was Don Arden either - loved those stori...

Poor old Steve. A lot of people gave him a hard time for this film. He was dying with cancer. He tried hard not to let anybody know. He still looked good, and was a tremendously strong man both physically and mentally. Anybody rubbishing him, simply look at what he did, and how popular he is 30-o...
a bit distorted, but overall it's pretty good. The Doors had problems getting bookings after the Miami farce, they signed up to this as headliners, and a lot of people were just waiting to rubbish them. Jim got Gene Vincent involved, and was instrumental in John Lennon's participation. He even cu...
