TWO TYPES OF ATHEISTS
Unfortunately, there are two types of atheists, the thinking atheist and the ignorant atheist.
The thinking atheist studies religion and science, observes the evidence for themselves and come to their own conclusions. The ignorant atheist is much like a creationist, they simply point to others and say, "what he said".
My advice is don't be the ignorant atheist.

THE TWO FUNDAMENTAL UNKNOWNS
The origins of life on Earth.
From evidence, we know all life evolved from single cell organisms in our oceans, yet we do not know the origins of those organisms.
The origins of our universe.
From evidence, we know the universe began seventeen billion years ago, yet we do not know how, why or what existed before the birth of what we know to be our universe.
These two unknowns are actually a good thing. They demonstrates how science and atheism, unlike religion, do not subscribe to ignorant absolutes. Unlike religious "faith", atheism is open to ALL POSSIBILITIES unless evidence proves otherwise.

NON-HUMAN INFLUENCE MUST REMAIN A THEORETICAL POSSIBILITY
When contemplating the possible answers to the two fundamental unknowns listed above, the possibility of non-human influence must be included. Why? There is no evidence to either support or discredit the mere possibility. Its that simple. Therefore, non-human influence must remain a theoretical possibility. If we simply discredit the theory of non-human influence for no other reason than personal beliefs, then we are no better than the delusional and ignorant dogma of religion.
Of course, the term "non-human influence" has NOTHING to do with religion.
