Doch wir konnten nicht offen weinen - But we could not cry freely. A short film about the chinese Communist Party. It's in Chinese with english and now even with german subtitles. (-:
In the end the Communist Party would announce that two and two made five, and you would have to believe it. It was inevitable that they should make that claim sooner or later: the logic of their position demanded it. Not merely the validity of experience, but the very existence of external reality, was tacitly denied by their philosophy. The heresy of heresies was common sense. And what was terrifying was not that they would kill you for thinking otherwise, but that they might be right. For, after all, how do we know that two and two make four? Or that the force of gravity works? Or that the past is unchangeable? If both the past and the external world exist only in the mind, and if the mind itself is controllable—what then?

Shen Yun Performing Arts has started its new season, with all news shows, in Augusta, Georgia.
Their global tour will see the performers again travel across four continents over the next five months with more than 50 shows scheduled for January alone.
Company Manager of Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company and choreographer Tia Zhang says although the program is new, the theme has not changed.
[Tia Zhang, Shen Yun Performing Arts]: This is the first time Shen Yun Performing Arts has performed in Augusta, and this is the first stop on our global tour, so we are very excited. Our program is all new but our essence, our theme will never change to promote 5,000 years of Chinese traditional culture, divinely imparted culture.
Principal dancer Michelle Ren says audience members are going to see something very divine in this seasons program.
[Michelle Ren, Choreographer & Principal Dancer]: For instance, our show this year displays the soft beauty of traditional women. Some (performances) portray Heavenly beauties and saints. Some portray mens masculinity. There are many, many different types of dance. Each performance is different, with different meaning, giving people different feelings. "
[Yungchia Chen, Choreographer & Principal Dancer]: Last year, the Tibetan dance was mainly men's dance, men's Tibetan dance. This year's Tibetan dance has males and females dancing together, expressing the masculine beauty of the Tibetan men, and woman's soft beauty."

A teenager in eastern Jiangsu Province is now homeless and grieving for his father.
Eighteen-year-old Yuan Chen from Xiyuanxing Village in Wuxi city lost his home on November 30. A demolition crew destroyed his home by force. When his father, Yuan Nianshen, tried to protest, patrol officials took him away.
[Yuan Chen, Victim of Home Demolition]: On November 13 they barged into my home, and dragged my dad out and into a car. It was those city patrols and they forced my dad into the car. There were about 17 or 18 of them. I was also taken to another car. I tried to protest and get out of the car, but they slapped me and punched me in the chest. After all the things in my house were removed, and the house was demolished they let me go, they told me to go away.
Yuan says his father was admitted to hospital that night after complaining of chest pains. A week later he died.
Yuan says his father was severely beaten before in September by the demolition crew after a failed negotiation attempt. They filed a report with the police but nothing was done about it.
Violent land grabs is a worsening problem across China—often started by greedy local officials. Instead of offering fair compensation to residents, officials pressure local residents and hire thugs to get them out of the way of urban development projects.
Residents complain officials collude with developers to demand land in the name of public needs, such as roads, and then turn it over to commercial investors who can reap big profits.

A year after being detained, leading Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo has been formally charged with inciting subversion of state power.
A long time dissident, the 53-year-old writer was arrested last December after publishing essays critical of the Chinese communist regime. He was also one of the organizers of Charter 08—a widely circulated petition that called for democracy reforms in China.
Web-based rights advocate China Human Rights Defenders, says Lius case would be heard by the Beijing Number One Intermediate Peoples Court. The date for the trial has not been set.
Lius supporters around the world have condemned the Chinese communist regime for arresting him, and are calling for his release. They fear authorities will rush to have his case heard during the holiday season, and that Liu may not be given a fair trial.
Lius wife, Liu Xia, told Reuters he plans to fight the charges.
If convicted, Liu could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison.

Weve been covering the issue of organ harvesting in China. Its when doctors at Chinese state-run hospitals remove organs from Falun Gong practitioners or other prisoners—so they can be sold at a profit.
Its been more than three years since the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong began collecting evidence about organ harvesting. And now they say theyve recorded a phone conversation between one of their investigators and a Chinese public security officer from Liaoning province.
The officers name is not being released to protect his safety. He says he witnessed military surgeons taking organs from a female Falun Gong practitioner on April 9, 2002. What you are about to hear may be disturbing.
[Public Security Officer [Name Withheld], Liaoning Province] One of them was a military surgeon from the General Hospital of Shenyang Military Region of the People's Liberation Army, and the other one was a graduate of the Second Military Medical UniversityThey were doing something to her in an operating room of the mental hospital she was sent to. They didnt use any anesthetic. They cut her chest with a knife and their hands werent even shaking. If it were me, Id be shaking. At that time, we (armed policemen) were standing guard each with a gun in our hands. By then, she had already been opened up. Then Ah! she shouted loudly once. Then she shouted, saying, Falun Dafa is good.
The witness says the surgeons then proceeded to take out the womans heart and kidneys. He says the procedure lasted three hours.
[Public Security Officer [Name Withheld], Liaoning Province] She shouted Ah loudly, saying, Falun Dafa is good. She said, You killed me, one individual. [I think] it roughly meant, You killed one individual like me. Can you kill several hundred millions of us, people that are being persecuted by you for our true belief? At that moment, that doctor, that military surgeon, hesitated. Then he looked at me, then at our (policemens) superior. Then our superior nodded, and he continued to do the veins [Her] heart was taken out first, next were the kidneys. When her cardiac veins were cut by the scissors, she started twitching. It was extremely horribleAh I dont want to talk about it anymore.
The man says he and other public security officers were ordered by Chongqing Public Security Bureau Chief Wang Lijun to [quote] eradicate Falun Gong practitioners.
Falun Gong is a spiritual practice thats been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime for more than 10 years.

Fraternellement,
Some people still seem to believe in what Communism says about an evil exploiting class of capitalists that has to be violently eliminated blah blah blah... In actuality there is no such thing. It doesn't exist. Capitalists are not the way Marx portrays them, nor do they actually exist in the way he describes. There are rich people who are bad and there are rich people who are good - just as there are poor people that are good and poor people that are bad. Their being good or bad is related to their moral character not to their bank account, social class or country.
