Check out the clip of Ed's Up - Ed (of Barenaked Ladies fame) learned what it was like mining gold here in Red Lake. And yes - there is a long standing tradition - if you can carry a brick of gold out with one hand - its yours. Looking for the full segment and the one he did on the logging industry as well.
