This site is dedicated to my weight loss journey with the aid of Lap-Band Surgery scheduled for August 2010. UPDATE: AUGUST 12, 2010 - Had LapBand! Yey!
I am getting so much inspriation from watching videos of lap banders and other gastric surgeries. I like watching the good, the bad and the 'ugly'. I know there will be ups and downs 'cause I've been fighting this weight loss battle for a long time. . My name says it all - I'm gonna do this whether it's SUNNY or RAINY (rain or shine). I'm scared of course - but with this community and my doctor and support team, I know I can and will win the weight loss battle. Please come along on this journey with me! My Goal Weight is 140 pounds.

Important Dates:

March 2010 - Went to Bariatric Center Orientation. This is mandatory for anyone considering bariatric surgery per Bariatric Center and Insurance.

June 30,2010 - Initial consultation with my bariatric surgeon Dr. Peter Crookes.

July 5, 2010- Psychological Evaluation

July 12, 2010 - started Pre-Registration for surgery.

July 13, 2010- Decided on a date- Surgery tentatively scheduled for August 12, 2010, pending insurance authorization.

July 16, 2010 - Had dietician evaluation.
Request for Insurance authorization submitted by office.

July 23, 2010 - Had PACE exam ( pre surgical exam needed for surgery)

July 23, 2010 - received Insurance Authorization. YaY! I thought I'd have to cancel PACE exam, but authorization came in the morning of the exam.

July 30, 2010- Stress Treadmill performed. (that was tough)

August 12, 2010 - Lap Band Performed. WoW !!.
