During the great war the allies employed a bold tactic in destroying german tanks.... dogs carrying explosives strapped to their backs were trained to seek food from under enemy tanks. While this manoeuvre wasnt allways successful in destroying the opposition, the dogs were invariably killed. Being punks from small towns all over New Zealand, SUICIDE DOGS can identify with the feeling of fighting a battle that seems impossible to win... Lead Vocalist Luke Yeoward migrated from Rotorua to the Bright lights of Hamilton at sixteen, were he befriended Bassist Mark Grubner. Together they formed MISTAKEN IDENTITY, and through various local punk shows soon met guitarist Justin Rendell, of A.K's GRAVEYARD RUMBLE. Realising the oppourtunitys of Aucklands Burgeoning punk/rock'n'roll scene, they moved north, recruiting skate rat Mel Stewart on drums and forming SUICIDE DOGS in 2005. Drawing influence from bands such as the Clash, Ramones, and Social Distortion, SUICIDE DOGS' fusion of in-your-face punk rock'n'roll anthems never fail to fire up a crowd. Passion leaps from the stage in to the audience, and you know your part of something special.... Despite their short existence they've: released a full length album, made a video, played with overseas heroes AGAINST ME (florida) THE BOUNCING SOULS (NYC) and PETER AND THE TEST TUBE BABIES, Toured NEW ZEALAND and SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA and played with NZ punk stalwarts such as STICKY FILTH, THE BLEEDERS, MISSING TEETH and more...
