The division of sexes makes us culturally challenged.
Society doesnt encourage the developement of our artistic abilities as much as (or the same way as) those of boys. In every artistic discipline most of the exponents (or the most well known ones, at least) are males. This obviously doesnt only happen in art but in society in general.
Our means of relating to the world and with other women is through men or with them as the target. We are told that we have to access knowledge through them.
"You learn that the only way to get rock-star
power as a girl is to be a groupie and bare
your breasts and get chosen for the night.
We learn that the only way to get
anywhere is through men. And it's a lie". -Kathleen Hanna.
We are also taught to relate to other girls as if they were our enemies (the competition to get to our ultimate goal: THAT boy), to call each other a whore/dyke/drama queen (behind each others back). This creates hostile enviroments, in which we cant act, talk, dress as wed like to for fear of being mistreated (psychologically or physically.)
We want to have an enviroment in which we can express ourselves without being judged, where we dont feel intimidated, free of pressure and predjudice.
We want to experience a context in which we dont relate through men. Where we dont avoid talking to another girl because shes somebodys girfriend/ex/friend...
We want to create a comunity of girls teaching other girls how to play guitar, paint, knit, etc. Share both feminine and masculine stuff.
Lets unite against the behaviour thats imposed to us by society.
Lets stop being spectators and start doing.
Lets stop competing and star cooperating.

Resistance is when I ensure what does not please me occurs no more."
