I will never blame it on hippies. I myself, though not a hippie, stand against the war. I want the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan stopped immeditely. Regarding the policeman who pepper sprayed the students, I do not believe it is illegal. I do not know what your definition of "threat" is, but they were asked to leave multiple times, blocked the road, and knew that some kind of response from police was coming. If it were up to me, I'd ignore them and not give them ANY attention they want to get. But among the various methods police could use to get them out of there I believe spraying pepper spray is the least harmful. The students knew this was coming and were warned by the cop, they chose to have it on their face. When I was a student at Cal, I've seen what extreme student groups like to do. They do not want to protest normally, they desire response to their provocation so they would get on TV.

Pepper spraying someone who is not a threat to anyone else IS illegal and IS unjust.

Please don't blame it on "the god dang hippies"
