One word springs to mind "FIRE"
How close can you sleep to a fire with a sleeping bag? With wool you can get close, it retains heat very well and is very fire retardant. Notice i said retardant and not fire proof lol.
Its a personal preference matey.

I think that was a fantastic design mate, really you have took something that was ok and made it far better and workable, i do own many types of crampons but i do mountaineering quite a bit but these babies would be great for someone that dont need them that often.
