About this user

Eric Stoll provides the recording, mixing, mastering, and reproduction services for Stoll & Son. Eric attended Westminster Choir College from 1997-2000 as a countertenor where he was part of a Grammy winning recording of the Dvorak Requiem in 2000 with the NJSO as a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir. As a member of WSC, Eric also sang at a world premiere with the New York Philharmonic at Lincoln Center and performed Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem. Eric was also a member of the Trinity Church Choir in Princeton, New Jersey as well as the Princeton Singers, Westminster Schola Cantorum, and Westminster Chapel Choir. After leaving WCC in 2000, Eric became a member of the Washington National Cathedral Choir where he sang for Presidents Ford, Carter, Bush, Clinton, and Bush. Eric was also a member of the Liverpool Cathedral Choir (UK) in late spring 1998; though offered the post, Eric returned to WCC in the fall. Eric has been on three tours of the UK with two choirs and has sung in Gloucester Cathedral, St. Paul's Cathedral, Salisbury Cathedral, Bath Abbey, St. Alban's Cathedral, Peterborough Cathedral, Tewkesbury Abbey, and St. Mary's Cathedral (Edinburgh). Having been on several recordings throughout his choral career which includes time singing for Bruce Neswick, Andrew Shenton, Simon J. Morley, Joe Flummerfelt, John Bertalot, Jim Litton, Doug Major, Ian Tracey, Heather Buchanan, Eleanor Taylor, James Jordan, and the like, Eric learned that most engineers have a lack of understanding as to what choirmasters / directors are looking for or even the ability to speak their language; likewise organists have problems telling engineers what they hear. Many engineers have frustration with this genre as a result; they feel it ends up taking more time than other more profitable projects. When the client and the engineer can't communicate, the recording suffers. In 2000 Eric graduated from the Sheffield Institute for the Recording Arts outside of Baltimore. Having spent several years away from music, Eric recently made his return from the business world thanks to the opportunity presented to him by Simon J. Morley. The goal of Stoll & Son is to provide quality recordings for organists and choirs of all types of programs, not just the cathedral choirs, in a fashion that is profitable and rewarding for all parties.
