Christopher Genovese enrolled at the School of Visual Arts in September 2001, where he founded Stoic Pictures and went on to complete four short films, always determined to push the limits of crowd-pleasing movies with unpredictable plots, risqué subject matter, and odd characters. In 2003 Aint It Cool News praised Chris's first short film, "Freds Suburban Nightmare" a tale told by an angst-ridden pet iguana living in suburbia, calling it "truly hilarious and very twisted."
