One of mum and dad's favourite records. I grew up with it! Three great voices but a problem for me is Gigli's quivering and sobbing at the opening. It seems to mar much of his singing. and for that reason I still prefer Caruso. Great to hear it again though. Many thanks.

Strange how ears hear differently. I know the high regard in which Bonci is held and I hear great artistry but my ear hears endless bleating and yearns for Caruso. Each to his own.

With respects he doesn't have a reliable sense of rhythm. Too many late entries.

Ahmaddis are true muslims and this shows a childish response to disagreements. Why not rational discussion? What can you lose? In fact much you can gain. Insults achieve nothing.

Caruso?

What is worth noting is that he does infact sing it in key and rise to the high C. His father never put a chest high C on record and in his recording of the aria it is transposed down so - Caruso Snr's high note is only B. He did same with 'Di quella pira'.

@bonkingdonkey With respect you are incorrect. He only recorded this aria once - in 1906 New York.
