There are still things that shyness gets in the way of, but now I just do them anyway -- I'm a shy person doing stuff rather than a shy person doing nothing. I wouldn't say my shyness went away. It's too much part of what I am. Maybe it isn't even something that people should think of curing, just taming or something.
