you are right. callas never had the gorgeous tone that borodina has. callas was an amazing singer, but a beautiful voice she did not have.

i don't like the tenor but she's fantastic

struckmann was a monster in the perf. i attended at the met in NY recently -- but only in act 1. he subsequently lost his voice in act 2. very scary, for all the wrong reasons.

i saw her up close at the met doing this part. she's a major talent, no doubt, but her interpretation of tosca comes across as very shallow, bland and inert. no fire whatsoever, and no major insights into the role. she should stay with verdi and leave verismo alone.

thanks for posting this. the thai team is amazing, with only one player over 1.8 m in height, it's incredible that they can hang with the best of the world. the cubans had a hard time beating them even though they are so much taller. too bad there's not an equivalent team in the men's side tha...
