I miss 587, she sounded so nice ! One of the coolest things about 587 was she was one of the only operational coal fired steam locomotives with a duplex stoker ! She was a real time machine to the Golden Age of Steam !

As a diesel mechanic, your problem is engine oil is less refined and heavier than fuel. Oil is harder to burn as it has a higher flash point.
