I know you're having fun doing the "Daddy thing" (I did it too) but that's an accident waiting to happen. Don't mean to sound like a heckler but, "20 to 30 minutes to sharpen blades with a grinder"? Man...sounds like you needed another grinder....or another operator to do the grinding! :-)

Why in the world would you have the engine running that fast while an inexperienced operator is learning to use it.? That makes "little mistakes" "big mistakes" in a hurry. Always let the machine idle around until the operator is comfortable with it.

@ViolentBiscuits I've never been a big Mopar man, so I don't know what is available as far as engines go, but at least some of the Vipers and trucks have V 10's in them.

Deck bearings won't last long when abused like that. You need a brush (bush) hog for that!

Wouldn't a new screw driver be cheaper? :-)

When my son that's a pilot in the Air Force was stationed at Andrew's AFB in Washington DC he and his wife lived in a "row house" similar to these. It had only 1100 sq ft and rented for 2300.00 a month. Nice income for someone!

Sweet little engines in these tractors! I kept one and used it for 30 years, and then sold it for 400.00 more than I gave for it! Can't do that with cheap mowers!

If the carb is leaking into the crankcase you need to install an inline fuel cutoff (unless you already have one) and let the carb run dry after each use.

Surely you mean 6,000 hrs instead of 60, 000 right? I was just thinking that even if you put an astronomical 1000 hrs a year on a mower, it would take 60 years to accumulate 60,000 hrs!

CDub, those albums are what we use for "perfect pitch" down here in AL. "Perfect pitch" as it relates to AL and those albums, means when you "pitch" them into the dumpster you don't hit any of the sides. Therefore, a "perfect pitch"! :-)
