@mrsherman109 I happen to be a professional baroque violinist, and I can tell you that there are many different styles of baroque playing in the early music world these days. It is the particular one on display here that I object to; I find it fussy and mannered.

@imshadi The Romance forms "verita'", "verdad", etc., derive from the accusative Latin form "veritatem" rather than the nominative "veritas". This is why they are accented on the "a". However, you're exactly right about the "e" and "a" in "veritas" being long.
