My expensive H-IPS LCD looks like a shit when compared with never used before 1995 arcade CRT monitor and even when compared to with more than 10 years old Sony GDM-C520K CRT when it comes to games and movies.

And that's 6k euro high end LCD. P.S. There's no 2ms $850 TFTs, 2ms grey-to-grey doesn'...

Some WiiWare games are much better than modern GFX tech demo FPS like Crysis-schmysis.

And for example prefer KOF XIII, and BlazBlue characters over blastic dummies from SSFIVAE (new Street Fighter is good in terms of gameplay but character models suck - most look like gorillas on steroids).

OpenGL is the industry standard and it's available everywhere - from super-duper PC with 8Gb video card to mobile phones. DirectX is Windows only and OpenGL 4.2 -> DX11 in a few things.

Well it costs too much for just a cheap modern PC inside a case very similar to C64. While it looks cool it's easier and way cheaper to get a netbook and install ubuntu with VICE - a portable C64 that just looks a bit less like original :)

C64 is quite user-friendly and so are spectrums and Atari XL. I had a 8080-based computer when i was 5-6 years old, and i had first to type 30 pages of machine code then save it to tape, then load it just to get a BASIC prompt XD

As for today's kids - well they are different, my neighbour's 11yo...
