This is a final draft of a music video I directed for the stunning American band -- THRUSH
This is a final draft of a music video I directed for the stunning American band -- THRUSHES -- and their song "Heartbeats" from the album SUN COME UNDONE on Birdnote Records.
Filming took place with the band on location at Metro Gallery in their hometown of Baltimore, MD -- and then with actors on the coast of Long Island, NY. The actress featured is Elizabeth Woodard and the actor featured is Scott Miller (of SBN).
THRUSHES are led by Anna Conner (voice/guitar), Rachel Tracy (bass guitar), Casey Harvey (guitar/fx/voice) and Ryan Sterner (drums).
THRUSHES are on the verge of releasing a major EP of "Heartbeats" remixes -- from some of the best DJs and musicians in the land -- due out in Spring 2008. They can be heard here -- http://www.senbaltimore.com/thrushes
For more info on THRUSHES, please visit them here -- http://www.thrushesrule.com http://www.myspace.com/thrushes
Both the "Heartbeats Remix" EP and the SUN COME UNDONE album -- are perfect albums. Well worth picking up.
And they are A-MAZ-ING live.

SPONSORED BY NOBODY is totally psyched for this one.
During the summer of 2007, our Artistic Director Kevin Doyle sat down with nytheatre.com staff contributor Michael Criscuolo to discuss the current SBN work-in-progress -- W.M.D. ( just the low points ).
We have converted the entire 25-minute conversation into a podcast, complete with stunning visuals of our research, rehearsals and performances -- which all corresponds directly to the conversation.
We may be a little biased -- but we feel this conversation about W.M.D. is brilliant.
Doyle and Criscuolo discuss the origins of W.M.D. -- the collaborative process between Paul Newport, Sean O'Hagan, Scott Miller, Jessa Wildemeersch, Kate Moran, Sarah Flanagan, Kevin Doyle and Captain Tom -- and the future development of W.M.D in 2008.
We hope you might take a minute (or 25 minutes, if you have it) -- to listen to this intelligent and engaging discussion about what we believe will prove to a titanic new work in 2008 from SBN -- one that will shatter any previous notions about who we are, what we do and what we are capable of as a company.
(hey, like we said -- we're a little biased)

This is the fifth brief excerpt from a new work-in-progress from SPONSORED BY NOBODY entitled -- W.M.D. ( just the low points ) -- presented here at a special one-night encore performance at the Ontological-Hysteric INCUBATOR in New York City. Featured are: Kate Moran, Scott Miller, Jessa Wildemeersch, Sean O'Hagan, Paul Newport and Sarah Flanagan. Live music is performed by Captiain Tom with Vicki Thomson on the bell/timer (both of them are out of the camera's view. W.M.D. ( just the low points ) is a creation of SPONSORED BY NOBODY, with additional text and directed by Kevin Doyle. W.M.D. (just the low points) was a proud co-recipient of the 2007 Performance Development Award from Chashama and The National Endowment for the Arts. W.M.D. (just the low points) traces the days events of January 8, 2004 -- the same date a major report was released that clearly stated pre-war intelligence was wrong and Iraq did not possess any weapons of mass destruction. The report obviously went nowhere. We decided to take a look at what Americans did pay attention to that day. This section recounts an excerpt inspired from the accounts of Richard Clarke and segways into a musical interlude.
